Wired: Touchy-Feely NASA EffortIt's sad that it took a tragic disaster to get NASA to realize its shortcomings, but hopefully the proposed changes will help build a better and safer operating culture. This article describes how NASA officials are beginning to realize the importance of intuitions and gut-feels. From arrogant statements like "In God we trust, all others bring data", NASA is trying to build a more sensitive culture which looks at touchy-feely qualities like tone of voice and even the shape of conference tables! I have a strong "feeling" that this story will feature in many case-studies on large scale organizational change.
