Training, experience and luck
Yes, these three words could very well sum up expertise, something that Captain Sullenburger showed when he safely ditched the Airbus in the Hudson. But this article in the San Francisco Chronicle only briefly touches on these 3 factors. I'm still waiting for some real evidence on the the 'luck' factor -- what lucky chain of events that took place that day to make the "miracle on the Hudson" possible? I guess, I'll have to wait for the Discovery Channel or National Geographic to take out a documentary on the event.
