The Rise of Crowdsourcing
Interesting story by Wired on crowdsourcing - having ordinary people 'create content, solve problems, even do corporate R & D' . The first example mentioned is the iStockPhoto website where 'crowds' upload pictures, many of which can be as good at the ones provided by the likes of Getty and Corbis, but available for download at a fraction of what they would charge. The model seems to makes sense and is scalable.
