The Elements of Style for Designers
Christina Wodtke has written an article on writing well. She's distilled the 22 principles from E.B. White's classic and adapted it for designers.
I still prefer to give designers a copy of Hot Text. The book provides enough context for designers to readily apply the principles -- in other words, it's not abstract.
