Progressive Disclosure
Jakob Nielsen's latest Alertbox article is on progressive disclosure, a design principle where information is presented in layers, moving from the basic to the more detailed. In an Ajax world, this principle becomes even more important. Before multiple pages were used to progressively disclose information, but now the same can be done with some clever Ajax code, thereby improving the user experience of finding all the requested information on the same page.
