If you develop an intranet effectively you can expect to see a magnificent return on investment but people lose sight of the opportunities and end up with an intranet that is muddled, complex and ultimately very difficult to use. And that’s where things go wrong. The whole idea of an intranet is to support tasks, support employees and to speed up the distribution and availability of information. If employees find that they are spending half an hour trying to find information then the intranet has been a complete waste of time. So simplicity is absolutely key.
