"In our feature article, this team describes their pioneering work in the area of synchronous IP videoconferencing for educational purposes.  Their article explores how we can create interdisciplinary experiences (in this case a course jointly taught to Engineers and Psychology students) using video-conferencing technology.  The unique feature of the course was the design of breakout sessions where students from remote locations had the opportunity to work one-on-one with each other.  The team describes how they were able to accomplish this from a technological perspective and analyzes their experience by assessing the social environment of the transformed classroom."
