elearn Magazine: What Is "Usable" e-Learning?Usability guru and fellow eLearn Magazine Advisory Board member Don Norman gives us a clue about how we can start this critical conversation. He is quoted as saying that for e-learning, "usability is not the major issue; learnability is." I believe this is a profoundly important statement, but it is also one that is difficult to unpack and translate into practical terms. My aim in this article is to look a little deeper into Dr. Norman's statement—deep enough that I can begin to define a research program for usability in e-learning.
