CIO: KM and Human Nature
If given the choice, I would prefer to gather around a watercooler and ask a colleague a question in person. It's through face-to-face contact where conversations often diverge and thus become really interesting. True moments of discovery come not from asking a concise question and getting a direct answer, but from tangential asides and spontaneous give and take. No matter how well-designed or intentioned the software, technology just can't take the place of real, live conversations.
